Today I went to my physio for the first time since the surgery. We did some exercises, mainly legs and working on my posture. I also got homework, about 20 mins a day exercises and stretches.
Then at dinner my soup was a bit thick. I suddenly remembered that my doctor said I should take out the bands for 10-15 mins a day now to start using the muscles again. So I decided to take out the bands and eat this thick soup like that. It was okay, still struggling a bit with the soup and slowly opening my mouth. It didn't really hurt but it also wasn't 100% without pain opening the mouth. So I was like "yupp that's enough for today". Took a good 10 minutes to put the bands back in because I didn't really remember where they were and I didn't understand the pictures I took of the positions. But after looking well at the pictures I took (my doctor told me to take pictures of the bands before taking them out so I could place them in the same spots again), it worked. And I'm about 70% sure they're in the right spot, maybe one band is a bit crooked but that's a B+ still. I'm pretty sure it's not the end of the world... or I'm 100% sure it's not the end of the world, but I'm pretty sure it's not too bad for my recovery even if it's not exactly the same. The doctor was struggling putting the bands in once when my face was really swollen so he then adjusted to that and put the bands in differently.
What else can I tell you.... My weight fluctuates a lot. Sometimes I maybe don't eat enough. I definitely didn't eat enough yesterday so it was 57kg this morning and now at night it's 59kg. I'm supposed to observe it and I'm doing what I can to get back to 60kg at least. Right now I'm about to eat my second ice cream portion of the day, luxury life!
Icey is out!
