What you need: -Really good lipbalm. I use a Blue Lagoon lipbalm, amazing! -Your favorite soups in stock. Campbell soups are great! -Variety in your diet. Protein drinks, fruit juices, etc. -Make sure somebody is going to be there for you to help you the first 3 days -Having an office chair to roll to the bathroom is not a bad idea. I learned it the hard way, I fainted the first two days walking to the bathroom -I recommend having a plastic plate and glass next to your bed. The plate is great for putting under your chin when you're eating soup because only about 50% is gonna make it through the first day ;) And the cup is handy when you need to spit. -Tissues, washcloths!!! Remember to bring some everywhere you go: the drive home from the hospital etc. -Soft toothbrush. You're not gonna be brushing your teeth much the first days, but might need to get some stuff that's stuck out. -Drink lots of water! I'm not good enough drinking... But pay attention to the urine color, that's how you know if it's enough.
